On June 29, 2026, the CRIARTE project took a solid step towards the modernization of the construction sector with the success of its first integrated prototype. Our main goal is to respond to industry challenges through technology, without ever replacing the fundamental role of workers. In this way, we reposition workers for coordination and supervision functions.
During the recent field tests, we demonstrated how a rotary telehandler can be robotized and integrated with artificial perception systems and digital twins. The robot operated autonomously in the assembly of a sandwich panel facade, collaborating side by side with the team on the ground. In addition, we collected vital data in manual operations and tested the resilience of our sensors under difficult conditions, such as smoke and rain.
With rigorous performance metrics (such as ADD accuracy evaluation and TPS-HRI human-robot trust measurement), we are ready to close the loop between perception and control, towards an even more autonomous and intelligent second prototype.
