CRIARTE Consortium Meets at ISEC: Countdown to the First Physical Demonstrator

On May 4, 2026, the CRIARTE consortium held its 3rd face-to-face meeting, this time hosted by ISEC in Coimbra. Reaching the 17-month mark (M17) out of a total of 36, the project now enters a crucial phase of execution and technological consolidation.
With several initial tasks completed and the rest in full development, this meeting marked the beginning of the final sprint before our first real-world test. The agenda strongly focused on aligning the latest developments in advanced perception, human-robot interaction (HRI), and the control architecture for the telehandler operation.
During the working sessions, the partners focused on system integration and defined specific plans for the execution of prototype #1, scheduled for June 2026. The perfect synchronization between 3D perception, digital twins, and control modules is now the top priority to ensure safe physical collaboration between human workers and robots.
The vision of Construction 5.0 is getting closer to materializing on the construction site. The countdown to the first pilot has already begun!
